June 4, 2012, the beginning of a new school year. New and old high school students came to general Santos City SPED Integrated School San Isidro Campus. They were welcomed by the faculty and staff headed by our principal Mrs. Rizza Robin-Valdez. Today, almost 900 high school students were officially enrolled. A total of 17 classes, composed by 5 classes of Grade 7 (formerly First Year), 4 classes of Second Year, 4 classes of Third Year, and 4 classes of Fourth Year. There were also additional new teachers to cope up with the increasing population of the students.
The office of the City Mayor initiated the construction of the new classrooms. Today, two 7×7 classrooms and two 7×8 classrooms are being constructed intended for the Grade 7 class and Grade 6 classes to be transferred here in San Isidro Campus. The office of the Congressman provided thousands of hollow blocks for the fencing of the school. A Resource Room is also being constructed for the Hearing Impaired and the Visually Impaired. The Resource Room of the Hearing Impaired will have equipments and tools needed for Baking. They will have Baking as one of their Livelihood Program.
The new school year of General Santos City SPED Integrated School is welcomed by new improvements. Not only by new buildings but also new structuring of the campus. The new structuring of the campus is like the combination of old school from the barrios and the new classrooms with the instructional technology of the private schools.
